Show the whole item
A photograph should show the full piece, not just a close-up of its surface. Add approximate dimensions if it is especially large, and mention whether it is already taken apart. For more than one item, include a complete list so nothing is missed in the assessment.
Describe what the item is made of if that is not clear. Let us know about anything unusual or anything inside it. Individual contents and collection requirements are assessed before the work is agreed.
Check how it will leave the property
Show narrow doors, stairs, tight turns and any lift. Mention the floor level and the distance between the item and a possible loading point. If the item was assembled in the room, explain that rather than assuming it will fit through the exit as it stands.
Tell us if access depends on somebody letting the team in, or if a replacement delivery gives you a deadline. Keep the old item’s collection separate from any arrangements with the retailer until the collection is agreed.

Explain its current condition and ask us what the assessed collection requires. Do not assume dismantling is included or necessary.

Let us know before collection so the scope can be reassessed. The original photos should not be treated as covering additional items.
